Mood Board Monday {The Bandwagon}

KMart bandwagon that is.

So it seems that Kmart dropped a new homewares catalogue a little over a week ago and everybody lost their minds. Last weekend I prepared a whole blog post about it but kinda accidentally saved it instead of publishing it. Of course as Murphy's Law would have it, this week I've seen a ton of blog posts about the same catalogue. So I wasn't going to repost this at all.

Instead I've deleted all the fabulous pics I'd collected and have instead given you my wish list.
What's on yours?

Mood Board Monday {Time}

Until I am measured, I am not known.
Yet how you miss me when I have flown.
What am I?

Why TIME, of course. This week's Mood Board was entirely open to interpretation so I was originally not going to do anything clock related but when there are so many stunning time pieces around it's hard not to. Especially when some of them are dirt cheap (hello KMart!) and some send us down Memory Lane (tell me what Aussie doesn't remember the test page from their childhood).

Top Left:           Stag Clock - KMart $15
Top Middle:     Coffee Time - A4 Art Print - Down That Little Lane $35
Top Right:        Nex Time Little Test Page - Hard to Find $56.95
Middle Left:    Time Piece Knob/Drawer Pull - Hard to Find $10
Middle:             Paris Fob Watch Clock - Freedom $169
Middle Right: Newgate Fleet Street Timezone Clock - Hard to find $246
Bottom Left:   Lambretta Cesare Black - Down That Little Lane $139.50

Mood Board Monday {Natural}

This week I'm going au naturel but I'm shaking it up and doing it on a budget. Kmart has really come a long way in the last 12 months...really drab to outrageously fab.  Now usually my Mood Board Monday posts are wish lists, things that I would love but apart from the odd statement piece they're out of my price range. This is where Kmart comes in. This season they're really hitting the mark with on trend items regardless of your style. If you like the classic, natural look - read on.
Mood Board Monday {Natural}

  1. Homemaker Leo Quilt Cover in Queen $10.
  2. Homemaker Hudson 43cm Square Cushion in Beige $5.
  3. Best Things In Life Typography Canvas $12
  4. 12 Piece Stone Dinner Set $15
  5. Rope Glass Jar $9
  6. Industrial Table Lamp $20
  7. Medium Round Basket $12
  8. Rope Doorstop $7
  9. Peony Rug $49
  10. LOVE Wood Blocks $5
So if were to go out and purchase one of all of the above items it would come to the sum total of $154. Yep, you read that right people a whole $154.
What are you waiting for?

Mood Board Monday {Radiant Orchid}

I'm still ploughing through the old Mood Board Monday drafts, so this week I bring you a collection in the Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 - Radiant Orchid. I'll admit that I don't mind a few subtle purple hue hits but it's really not my most favourite of colours.
Radiant Orchid

The bedroom setting is from Adairs. I love the Vintage washed linen. It looks so comfy and inviting. Loving the Floral Dia de Muertos cushion cover AKA Skull Cushion. This as well as tons of other gorgeous cushions can be found over at I Love Linen. Now I don't usually troll Etsy but I stumbled across this print a while ago on Pinterest and loved it. You can find it here. Another favourite store of mine is Domayne. That is where you'd find the Kas Omari Multi Cushion AKA the flamingo one. And lastly the Purple Sky print. How serene is it? Not a fan of the heavy black frame but the print is just stunning. You can find it at Down That Little Lane in their Sky Series

Mood board Monday {Reflective}

So while having a dig around and doing a bit of blog maintenance I found I had a stack of posts that were all still in the draft stage. Some with just a few words and some that were practically fully written. With that in mind I thought why waste a written post so I'm going right back to a challenge from last year with mood board monday.
This week we have reflective. Now originally I had gone through and pinned a heap of reflective items that were really cool but I saw one mirror and envisioned a whole little layout and it grew from there.

Mood Board Monday {Industrial}

When I saw this theme, one place and one place only came to mind...The Industrial Revolution. This shop used to be called The Ugly Duckling. I used to drive past it fairly frequently but it's in a high traffic area with very little parking and I could just never get to it but every time I'd drive past I'd look at that big orange sign with the duck wistfully. Then one day I happened across their facebook site, which linked back to an online store and I was in heaven. Imaginary heaven that is. As much as I drool over this look, it just doesn't quite cut it with my house. I'm thinking maybe one or two smaller statement pieces I might be able to get away with but for now I'll just be content with moodboarding it up.

1. Four hook hanger   2. Iron factory lamp   3. Tin numbers   4. Whitewash dining table
5. Iron locker chest   6. Fire bucket    7. Iron peti box   8. Cello stool

First up, this weeks mood board Monday theme of Coral. Mood Board Monday {Taking Flight}

New week and I'm back in on the right day AGAIN. Who wouldda thunk it. This weeks theme is an interesting one which really had me stumped..."taking flight". So what do you think of when you hear the words taking flight? I had several ideas - birds, chasing seagulls, airports, planes, so I just ran with a random mix of whatevers.
  1. Take flight bracelet - pick up sticks jewelery company
  2. Con Air blue ray - now that's one flight I don't wanna be taking (I do however love this movie - JB HIFI
  3. Hot air ballooning - through Red Balloon
  4. Airplane charm pendant - Tiffany & Co (Hey a girl can dream, can't she?)

Don't forget to check out what Taking Flight means to everyone else in the links below.

Mood board Monday {Hexagonal}

Hexagons seem to be a key design statement right now with them popping up just about in every facet of design: fashion, art, home wears and even beauty.

Some look great, some are ummm interesting. But hey, it's Amber Rose. She's so stunning that even hexagon glasses look awesome on her.

Anyway, on to my picks for the week.
         2. Origami coffee table - West Elm
         3. Hive vases - West Elm
         4. Wooden hexagon beaded necklace

Now it just so happens that I was hotfooting it around the gorgeous Melbourne the last two days and because in my spare time (read anytime we were in the car) I was trying to write this blog post, I had hexagons on the mind. Seriously, I was tripping over hexagons left, right and center. I've snapped a few pics as proof. I would have snapped more but the husband was starting to get just a tad testy with all the "Hey, wait. I've gotta get a pic of this" moments.

Mood board Monday {Metallic}

I thought that metallic would be easy, but I guess it's all in the interpretation. All week I've had in the back of my mind what I was going to do and keeping an eye on both instagram and Facebook (yes surprise, surprise retentive Kylee follows a LOT of interior designers) for anything new that caught my eye that fit my imaginary brief. But then everything I had in mind changed with just one photo released on the Facebook page of Emily Ziz Style Studio.
 Right, so it's not all metallic but I love how the metallic pops when all this is put together. Imagine the gorgeous wallpaper in your bedroom with the mirrored dresser in front of it and the art deco mirror hanging just above and slightly off center. Then the beautiful accessories styled on the dresser with the pop of orange and the metallic homewares reflecting back. If I had more time, I'd play around with them in photoshop to show you exactly what I can see, but for now, just run with your imagination.

  1. Emily Ziz Style Studio - Shibori wallpaper
  2. Freedom - Deco Mirror
  3. Interiors Online - Antique Mirror 3 drawer dresser
  4. West Elm - Metallic Printed Jewelry Box - Flax
  5. Domayne - Ish Metal Box
  6. Hard to find - Menu Jewellery tree
  7. Ikea - Blomster candle holder
  8. Ikea - Randig Scented Block Candle
  9. Hard to find - Sunset Fringe Necklace - Tangerine
