Aussie Curves : Celebration Essential 80's Norty 40 style

Just over a month ago I was posting about the lead up to my Norty Forty Epic 80's party but just like the procrastinator I am, I never got around to doing a follow up post.

So what better opportunity than Danimezza's opening challenge for the second year of Aussie Curves weekly challenges : CELEBRATE.

And celebrate I did. It's the first child free party I've had in the last 10 years so I really let my hair down...as you can tell by the pics LOL

Now before you start thinking "Dude, WTF is she doing?", yes, I was doing duck face. Somewhat obsessively. Alcohol has a lot to answer for. Also I should add that it was 80's themed, so think Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan (hmmm something tells maybe I should've saved this pic for celebrity copycat).

Anyway, here's the clothing lowdown including pieces that you'll see in pics further down.

Right, let's get back to the Epic 80's Norty Forty Celebration. I'm an obsessive party planner. I will spends weeks organising, purchasing, DIYing, arranging, really just going nuts to get the party just right. This is why I'm in love with Pinterest. Aussie Curves : Glitzy Green

It's not easy being green...or is it?

This weeks challenge was to showcase the color green, so let me start by saying that while typing this I'm supporting the green cause with this little beauty.




Annnnyway, today is another one of my City Chic haul posts as I'm showing off another two recent purchases and one just happened to have the base color of green.  As soon as I spied this green cami on the hanger I was smitten and HAD to have it. Not only is green my favorite color but I love this shade and the oriental print gives it a summery feel that brings a little sunshine to a a day that's typical of Melbourne autumn.

This afternoon I was graced with Miss 5's presence and she decided to script my photonshoot. I laughed a lot with her directing my poses. She has the most awesome imagination and the poses we were shooting were hilarious. I had to poke my behind out, I had to pretend I was a superhero complete with laying on a bench seat so I could assume the flying pose (um, yeah I've omitted that photographic gem), oh and I had to do some crazy eye rolling sticking tongue out thing (which I'll share for your viewing pleasure).

Aussie Curves : Mesmerising Maxis

Ahh the Maxi dress. How I love thee, let me count the ways:

1. Most of you have an empire line cut which accents the good and hides the bumpy
2. I don't have to have that "Groan, do I REALLY need to shave my legs" discussion with myself whilst in the shower if I'm going to wear one
3. The material is usually light and breezy, just perfect for summer

I could do on, but I don't want to bore anyone to death. Let's just say I heart a good maxi.

And now, since we're finally blown over into Autumn weather here in good ol' Melbourne, I got smart and grabbed out the camera (well in actuality I got Miss 4 to get snap happy) when we had a last run of stinking hot days. So I bring you the last rays of Melb summer with the Maxi.

Aussie Curves - Mellow Yellow

Let me preface this by saying that I was planning on calling this one "Anything but Mellow Yellow" but to be perfectly honest my mood and my health isn't particularly stellar so I'm feeling really flat...mellow really. Even getting together an outfit for this left me just going "Blah, that'll do." So not me usually, but oh well. 

I did have every intention of getting this one up and running early. Last Tues on my day off I had the plan to do a lap of the numerous thrift stores in the area to scout out anything yellow and ideas for future weeks. That plan was thwarted when I copped a call for the big boss asking me to do some ground work for her on something exciting I was trying to get off the ground (but I'll save that news for a future post). So I saw one store...who had no yellow plus size or accessories. Dagnamit. 

So I bring you my rushed together (ie: quick the linky closes tonight) pics of "Yellow." 

Yeah well that ombre look isn't really rocking it, but it's all you're gettin this week.

Am big time LOLing at this photo. I swear I look constipated. I didn't realise how bad it was until I uploaded it.  

Meh, really I'm not vain enough to care. Well I am but that's all I got.
