Mood Board Monday {The Bandwagon}

KMart bandwagon that is.

So it seems that Kmart dropped a new homewares catalogue a little over a week ago and everybody lost their minds. Last weekend I prepared a whole blog post about it but kinda accidentally saved it instead of publishing it. Of course as Murphy's Law would have it, this week I've seen a ton of blog posts about the same catalogue. So I wasn't going to repost this at all.

Instead I've deleted all the fabulous pics I'd collected and have instead given you my wish list.
What's on yours?

Mood Board Monday {Time}

Until I am measured, I am not known.
Yet how you miss me when I have flown.
What am I?

Why TIME, of course. This week's Mood Board was entirely open to interpretation so I was originally not going to do anything clock related but when there are so many stunning time pieces around it's hard not to. Especially when some of them are dirt cheap (hello KMart!) and some send us down Memory Lane (tell me what Aussie doesn't remember the test page from their childhood).

Top Left:           Stag Clock - KMart $15
Top Middle:     Coffee Time - A4 Art Print - Down That Little Lane $35
Top Right:        Nex Time Little Test Page - Hard to Find $56.95
Middle Left:    Time Piece Knob/Drawer Pull - Hard to Find $10
Middle:             Paris Fob Watch Clock - Freedom $169
Middle Right: Newgate Fleet Street Timezone Clock - Hard to find $246
Bottom Left:   Lambretta Cesare Black - Down That Little Lane $139.50

Mood Board Monday {Australiana}

And the catch up game continues with Mood Board Monday, this one dates back to Australia Day so let's celebrate with Australiana. Gone are the days when Australiana means Ken Done prints and Jenny Kee cardigans.

  1. Waratah Print Cushion - Everingham and Watson
  2. Sydney Map Print - Evelyn Henson on Etsy
  3. Nylex Skipping Girl Bookends - Holy Kitsch
  4. Australian Bird Babushka - Everingham and Watson
  5. Leather Fly Swat - Everingham and Watson
  6. Geometric Crazy Cocky - Adairs
  7. Ceramic Bird Yellow - Kmart
  8. Water Color Garden Polly Cockatoo - Adairs
  9. Tote Bag - Grevillea in Red - Four Leaf Clover
Seriously, what can be more Aussie that the good ol' Aussie Fly Swatter. We all need one of those.

Mood Board Monday {Natural}

This week I'm going au naturel but I'm shaking it up and doing it on a budget. Kmart has really come a long way in the last 12 months...really drab to outrageously fab.  Now usually my Mood Board Monday posts are wish lists, things that I would love but apart from the odd statement piece they're out of my price range. This is where Kmart comes in. This season they're really hitting the mark with on trend items regardless of your style. If you like the classic, natural look - read on.
Mood Board Monday {Natural}

  1. Homemaker Leo Quilt Cover in Queen $10.
  2. Homemaker Hudson 43cm Square Cushion in Beige $5.
  3. Best Things In Life Typography Canvas $12
  4. 12 Piece Stone Dinner Set $15
  5. Rope Glass Jar $9
  6. Industrial Table Lamp $20
  7. Medium Round Basket $12
  8. Rope Doorstop $7
  9. Peony Rug $49
  10. LOVE Wood Blocks $5
So if were to go out and purchase one of all of the above items it would come to the sum total of $154. Yep, you read that right people a whole $154.
What are you waiting for?

Aussie Curves : Celebration Essential 80's Norty 40 style

Just over a month ago I was posting about the lead up to my Norty Forty Epic 80's party but just like the procrastinator I am, I never got around to doing a follow up post.

So what better opportunity than Danimezza's opening challenge for the second year of Aussie Curves weekly challenges : CELEBRATE.
And celebrate I did. It's the first child free party I've had in the last 10 years so I really let my hair down...as you can tell by the pics LOL

Now before you start thinking "Dude, WTF is she doing?", yes, I was doing duck face. Somewhat obsessively. Alcohol has a lot to answer for. Also I should add that it was 80's themed, so think Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan (hmmm something tells maybe I should've saved this pic for celebrity copycat).

Anyway, here's the clothing lowdown including pieces that you'll see in pics further down.
Lace Headband : Spotlight
Glasses : Random $2 shop (yes I know they're not Madonna inspired but I was drunk..and I liked them)
Necklaces & Bangles : Diva, Equip, Profile
Blazer : Best & Less
Bustier : City Chic
Pants : Avella for Big W
Shoes : K Mart

Now if you're friends with me on Facebook you would've already seen the eleventy billion party photos, but if not scroll on down and take a peek. While you're at it keep on scrolling on right through to the bottom to see how all the other Aussie Curves chicks celebrate in style.

Right, let's get back to the Epic 80's Norty Forty Celebration. I'm an obsessive party planner. I will spends weeks organising, purchasing, DIYing, arranging, really just going nuts to get the party just right. This is why I'm in love with Pinterest. All my party ideas and inspirations in the one place. Anyway, I'm babbling now so I'll just let my pics do the rest of the talking.

Nomming it up at the 80's inspired lollie bar

My gorgeous sister and I and the husband and I - George Michael and Maddona,

 The besties partying like only besties do

From talking to most people it sounds like they had a ball.
I know I did.

Aussie Curves : Flowery Feminine

Soooooooo feminine eh? Far out, I can't even spell the word without spell check going off let alone dress feminine. My friends know me as a jeans and top kinda gal - and that's when I'm out. At home I'll admit that I'm tracky dacks and my moccos all the way.
So yeah, feminine I'm not. But hey, I'll try.

 Blazer : City Chic
Top : City Chic
Necklace : Target
Jeans : City Chic
Shoes : K-Mart

Aussie Curves : Snazzy Sequins

Well the City Chic sale couldn't have come at a better time considering the first piece I grabbed in my hot little hands was a great hi lo sheer sequined number. Not bad considering I didn't even know it was sequins week. Now I've never been a sequin person before. Like I've said in the past, boring Nanna was how I'd describe my style. But this top just screamed at me and I HAD to have it.

Yes I know the pics don't look like it was something that I HAD to have, but I was tired (having been dragged from one side of Melbourne to the other looking at cars with The Husband), hungry and had a ripper headache.  Believe me though, I was rocking this top, just not in the pics LOL.

Jacket - City Chic Winter 2012
Scarf - Target ~2010
Top - City Chic May 2012 sale $20 (what a bargain)
Jeans (not in pic) - City Chic TDF Apple
Boots (not in pic) - KMart slouch ankle boots

Don't forget all the sparkly and shiny curvy chicks and their sequin posts below.
Ciao

Aussie Cuves - Bodacious Bodycon

This was the post that almost wasn't. Firstly I'll admit to feeling more eeekkkk about this week than Swimwear week and secondly what the hell was I going to wear???

So today I spent the best part of 40 minutes pulling things in and out of the wardrobe and drawers trying to get together an outfit that I would be confident enough to pull off.  Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz, no deal. Zip. Nada. Nothing. I had one dress that I briefly considered but my hate of the mummy pouch got in the way. Not going to happen.

So I admitted defeat. This week I was out. I started planning out in my head what I was going to write to excuse myself and instead had a brainwave. I remembered that I took some sneaky cam change room pics when I was unsure of whether to buy a peplum dress. Sneaky cam pics were still on phone (gotta love iCloud). Only problem is that being I was only taking pics for opinions of the dress on me, I have no head in the pics. So you'll have to imagine my noggin smiling back at you. Actually, no you don't. Thanks photoshop.
Dress : City Chick
Leggings : KMart
Shoes : Ruby
Accessories : The trusty iPhone
Disclaimer : The leggings and shoes were just cause I was too lazy to take them off when trying this on whilst on my lunch break

Oh and FYI, I got the dress...in black...with the purple belt...in love.
