Aussie Curves: Spectacular Secondhand

Challenge accepted for my second week on the Aussie Curves bandwagon. 

This week I was wondering if I was even going to make it in. I don't do much secondhand shopping, well I do for the kids, but plus size isn't easy to come by. Hell I even considered taking advantage of the fact that my bestie left her cardigan here on Friday - well that's secondhand if it belongs to someone else isn't it??

But at the last second a colleague mentioned that there was an OP Shop right near work so during my break on Saturday I power walked on over and had a little browse. I didn't find anything in the Plus Size section so I decided to check out the kids and on the way past saw THE shoes. I had been looking for some navy shoes to go with a particular dress and just couldn't find anything, anywhere. Low and behold they were a 39. OMG squealllllllll.  So here they are:

Dress: City Chic

Bracelet: Diva

Shoes: I Love Billy (thrifted)

Righty-o, so not the most spectacular pic and yes, yes, I should've ironed the dress first but I was time poor and tired after what's been a long week at work. Add to that it didn't help that Mr 9 was too busy on the computer to take some pics so I had to make do with Mr 8 who for all his computer savvyness, is unco at best with a camera. Oh and for the record, as much as I'm in love with the shoes, I'm not convinced that they go with the dress. What do you think?

Oh and kudos to Yvette for the heads up on the OP Shop and Jacqui if you're looking for your cardi, I have it :P

Familiar anyone? Nope? Well does this jog your memory then?

I hadn't thought about this movie for years until my brother quite nicely pointed out the similarities between sloth and photo of Jack after getting dumped by a wave at the beach on the weekend. Poor Jack and his unfortunate typical 7 year old mismatched teeth - complete with the one ripper front tooth (you know the one, great for opening cans).

WDYT? Can you see the resemblance?

Online Junkie

 Just today I happened to be talking to some of the girls at work about online forums and they seem to have come to the conclusion that I'm some computer freak. Now I don't think that I'm all too over the top and I know a lot of people that frequent online forums, but how much is too much?

I joined my first online forum way back in 2004. It was a parenting forum. I'm still a member to this day but post very sporadically. To be perfectly honest, I use that forum more as entertainment, fodder for other forums which have sprung from it's loins. Which brings me to all the other forums I've picked up along the way. There has been the one whose "name shall never be mentioned" on the aforementioned parenting site, two or three weightloss forums, forums that have sprung from friendships from the original site, forums that have sprung from the "name shall not be mentioned" site, forums from TV shows, private Facebook groups. They are just a few that spring to mind.

Now I'm no longer a member of all of them, but there are at least three that I am a regular poster on. I've made friendships through some of them that I hope are lifelong. I've met people IN REAL LIFE, not just names on a screen. I've even been to a group meet in another state, which may seem quite weird to some but these women have been in my life almost daily for three years now.

So who else is part of the freak show? Are you a forum member? How many forums do you follow?

While I was doing some tidying (yes, yes ha ha I know Kylee tidying up is funny) I happened to come across a photo of Brian from when he was really little. At a guess I'd say he is 3ish so I thought I'd compare it to some current pics of our boys.

 This is Liam at 4.5years and Jack at 3.5 years.

Funny thing is, everyone has always said that Liam looks so much like Brian and Jack so much like me, but in these pictures I think Jack looks like a clone of Brian. What does everyone else think?
