Not content with doing some home renovations...

...we decided to renovate our dining room chairs today. After over six years and three children, there was no way I could call them cream anymore - as evidenced by this pic:

How much better does this look?

Yeah I know I'm crazy as the base color is still cream - but I have plenty of left over material to recover again if need be.

A wanna be photographer

Well I lashed out and joined a beginners photography group to learn some techniques. The first challenge was flowers. I've never done flowers before and I discovered macro. I know these pics are far, far away from photography standard - but it was interesting learning what works at what angles and what looks good.

There's a fine line between pleasure and pain

So take your pick, what is it - pleasure or pain?

Such is the joy of first time swimming lessons eh?

Oh precious source of light, how I love thee...let me count the ways

ONE: I love how after 10 years, you are special enough to be the first item deemed worthy enough to cover a naked bulb in my house.

TWO: I love how the sunlight glimmers off your plasticness, giving the impression to those with less than 20/20 sight that you are in fact crystal.

THREE: I love how you glow an almost McDonalds cheese colour when your bulb is heating up.

AND FOUR: I love how Miss Almost Two jumps up and down and shrieks "pretties" at her new light pendant. For that your McDonald's cheese plasticness is worth every cent.

A meal that brings back my childhood

So tonight I put it in front of my kids for the first time ever and their faces said it all. I was lucky to even get them to taste it.

Well I liked it. I guess I'll be eating it for a while considering how much I bloody made.

We'll go dancing in the dark, walking the in the park and.....

.... reminiscing reading through old blogs.

Now I've got that damn song in my head. Anyway, there is nothing like reading back through a poor neglected blog to get you typing again. There are so many little things that you have totally forgotten until you start to read.

Like the kids deciding to make you eggs for breakfast, making then wrecking gorgeous baby singlets, Jack strutting his stuff - The Village People style, taking the novel approach to getting the kids to eat and the hair snagging saga.

I've laughed and I've cried today reading through all of them and I've realised that I've missed blogging. I've missed having a record of the daily grind. I've missed sharing it with friends and family.

So I'm starting blogging again...soon.
