NINE?

Nine you say? When the heck did my nephew turn nine?

I still remember my sister refusing to take any phone calls for the last few days before her scheduled cesarean so no one would know exactly when he was arriving. I thought I'd die from the suspense.

I still remember the first bottle I gave him. Yeah sorry about that Deak - probably the worst wind you've ever had.

Anyway mate, hope your day was unreal and make sure you catch some fish for me.

It don't matter if you're black or white

Well it does actually. I want white. All white.
White kitchen, white living room and white dining room.
Am I crazy? Damn right I am. But I want it and damn it I'm going to get it.
So here are a few of my favorite ideas and things I want to suss out.

Ok so I'm not a fan of the couch and rocking chairs but I like the idea of this one. The room seems quite dark for an all white room though.

Am REALLY loving this look. I think it all ties together so nicely. It's basically white, but enough color splashed in to not make it look stark.

And I'm love, love, loving this one too. Although probably just a tad too white.

And now for some Ikea drooling. This coffee table I really want and this sofa and it's matching 2 seater buddy.

Now this I adore. I've pinched this pic from Jade at Beyond the Baby. You can check out her post about this cabinet here. This cabinet is from the same range as the coffee table (above), BUT....I have a whole library of billy bookcases. Covers one and half walls. Very much like this:

So now I'm thinking maybe I can convert this. You can buy glass and full doors in different sizes for it. I'll have to go to Ikea and check it out. I love Jade's one though.

That and I also have a white expedit 4x4 that I need to work out where I'm going to put. I'm hoping it'll go in Gigi's room though.

So after all that, now I have to find a way to convince the husband to go along with it.

F is for Friday (amongst other things)

This week was on of those weeks that seem to drag forever and tonight couldn't come around fast enough. I resisted temptation (and by George, it's killing me) but I am NOT posting under the influence. I so want to be though. Why oh why is there so many calories in Red?

Anyway, enough lamenting - this week has been interesting to say the least. So here's some random musings and carry ons from this week:

• My gorgeous photogenic child has gone a growth spurt and is looking, well how can I say it, ummm goofy. In the space of 4 days he's lost 3 teeth and his one remaining front tooth is also loose. My feelings on loose teeth are the same as those on loose wet hair. I swear I'll vomit if this kids waves his loose tooth at me again tonight.

• On the subject of vomiting, Brian sends me this photo of what he thinks is his broken ankle. After turning the phone around different ways, I finally realised that I was looking down his leg and the big *blerk* lump *blerk* on the right is his ankle. Thankfully it turned out to be only tissue damage and bad swelling. But still *blerk* all the same.
  

• So yesterday was D-day for our house sale to go unconditional. We where so excited, can't believe it was happening. Than BAM...no confirmation from buyer. Unbeknown to us, there is apparently a leeway of 2 clear working days after this date for them to still to back out by having their finance fall through. They have verbal confirmation of their finance, but nothing in writing. So now we're in limbo. It's a 30 day settlement. We're meant to be moving in 7 days. So now we won't know until Monday what's happening. I want to scream. Do I pack this weekend or not? Grrrr.
  

I is pretty

In light of my post earlier this year, I'm sharing the stunning accessorising my daughter did on me yesterday. Not only did she lash out with the accessories, but then demanded to use my phone to take photos of me. Who was I to refuse?

Oh Nomnomnom

Well the plan for tonight was for John to come over for dinner then we'll go for a walk. Yeah, that was the plan. Instead we went out for dinner and ate enough that we need to walk a few days to burn it off. Ooops.

So anyway, we tried out Outback Jacks since I've never been there before. The kids had a ball since there is a playground there (note to Shaz, don't go if it's raining as it's not undercover) and the kids meals are huge and come with ice cream with topping for dessert.

And if I thought the kids meals where huge, my eyes where bulging out of my head when ours came out. Here's the evidence:

Home maker that is. Well I try and yesterday was baking and cooking day.
We started with home made LCMs, then chocolate muffins, then chocolate heart cakes, a lamb roast and the best of them was the roast potatoes. Seriously best roast potatoes I've cooked. Mmmmm...

It's all happening around here

Can you believe it? It's done. We're on our way.

Keep your fingers crossed for us that their finance doesn't fall through.

If it goes to plan then it's all systems go and we're out of here by March 9th.

New Kids on the block - Pegging it

And party we did at Miss Nelly's 6th birthday party.

The kids had an absolute ball at this new fantastic play centre Little Legs Play Centre.

As you can see, Chanel was the Mermaid Princess in the great Mermaid chair.

Here comes the rain

And there is goes like a river through our carpeted garage.See all those towels below?

That was me stupidly not realising how bad it was and
trying to stop the water flow with towels.

The water was snaking a patch through to the front of the garage.

And that's it - all wet. Excuse the mess.
I was throwing stuff left, right and center trying to get it all off the floor.

And lastly, this is where the river came from.
Doesn't really look like much now, but I assure you it was a river.
