Mood Board Monday {Radiant Orchid}

I'm still ploughing through the old Mood Board Monday drafts, so this week I bring you a collection in the Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 - Radiant Orchid. I'll admit that I don't mind a few subtle purple hue hits but it's really not my most favourite of colours.
Radiant Orchid

The bedroom setting is from Adairs. I love the Vintage washed linen. It looks so comfy and inviting. Loving the Floral Dia de Muertos cushion cover AKA Skull Cushion. This as well as tons of other gorgeous cushions can be found over at I Love Linen. Now I don't usually troll Etsy but I stumbled across this print a while ago on Pinterest and loved it. You can find it here. Another favourite store of mine is Domayne. That is where you'd find the Kas Omari Multi Cushion AKA the flamingo one. And lastly the Purple Sky print. How serene is it? Not a fan of the heavy black frame but the print is just stunning. You can find it at Down That Little Lane in their Sky Series

This week I haven't included the Mood Board Monday button as it's pretty much obsolete, but instead I'm going to direct you to Lisa Warren's new blog - Blossom and Bright. Make sure you check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Mood board Monday {Metallic}

I thought that metallic would be easy, but I guess it's all in the interpretation. All week I've had in the back of my mind what I was going to do and keeping an eye on both instagram and Facebook (yes surprise, surprise retentive Kylee follows a LOT of interior designers) for anything new that caught my eye that fit my imaginary brief. But then everything I had in mind changed with just one photo released on the Facebook page of Emily Ziz Style Studio.
 Right, so it's not all metallic but I love how the metallic pops when all this is put together. Imagine the gorgeous wallpaper in your bedroom with the mirrored dresser in front of it and the art deco mirror hanging just above and slightly off center. Then the beautiful accessories styled on the dresser with the pop of orange and the metallic homewares reflecting back. If I had more time, I'd play around with them in photoshop to show you exactly what I can see, but for now, just run with your imagination.

  1. Emily Ziz Style Studio - Shibori wallpaper
  2. Freedom - Deco Mirror
  3. Interiors Online - Antique Mirror 3 drawer dresser
  4. West Elm - Metallic Printed Jewelry Box - Flax
  5. Domayne - Ish Metal Box
  6. Hard to find - Menu Jewellery tree
  7. Ikea - Blomster candle holder
  8. Ikea - Randig Scented Block Candle
  9. Hard to find - Sunset Fringe Necklace - Tangerine

Mood Board Monday {Floral}

You know I always see these wonderful articles in different home decorating magazines talking about mood boards, but never seemed to have the pizazz to throw one together. I can look at things and know if they look good or crap but I just can't tweak things so that they look how I have envisioned.

So then along comes Lisa over at Life as we know it and creates this awesome mood board challenge. Here's a little exerpt from her blog to explain the challenge.
So, what is a mood board? A mood board is a visual representation of all the things that you love, dream about owning, or perhaps just inspire you. It can represent a mood, an atmosphere or a feeling...and in the case of Mood Board Monday...a theme.
How does Mood Board Monday work? Each Monday, I will launch the new theme on the Life as we know it blog. Mood Board Monday is only limited by your imagination, and the themes can be interpreted across many blogging genres. You're encouraged to create your own inspirational mood boards based on the current theme for your own blog; then add your blog post's link to the bottom of the relevant post here. I will also share the following week's theme so that you can prepare your posts ahead of time and schedule them. Let's get inspired!

So here goes nothing - Week 1 - Floral.
Those that know me know I'm not a girly girl. I'm not into pretty floral or floaty materials or anything and that's what I think of when I see the word floral. What I do currently have a penchant for is bright, out there florals with bold colors. I'd love a bedroom theme like that, so what I can't have in real life, I'll mood board instead.
